Level 1 Surf Coaching Course a Great Success

Surfing New Zealand (SNZ) held an International Surfing Association (ISA) Level 1 Surf Coaching course over the weekend of 7th and 8th of November at Mount Maunganui. The course, presented by SNZ Development Officer Lee Ryan, was well attended with many of the participants travelling from as far a field as the Bay of Islands and Whangarei in the north, to Gisborne on the east coast. The majority of the newly trained surf instructors will be looking to secure employment in surf schools around the beaches of New Zealand.

The internationally recognised course, which covers both theory and practical modules on introducing the beginner surfer to the sport of surfing, is the minimum requirement needed to work in an Approved SNZ Surf School.

The next Level 1 course is scheduled for the 6th and 7th December in Christchurch.  If you wish to enroll in this course or require additional information on the courses SNZ run, please contact lee.ryan@surfingnz.co.nz or visit www.surfingnz.co.nz.
